Our work

What we do

Organizing Workshops and Edit-a-thons

We organize and host events such as workshops and conventions where volunteers and open knowledge enthusiasts come together to edit or create Wikimedia projects on specific themes, often aimed at improving coverage of topics related to the local community or region.

Content Creation and Translation

We also encourage and motivate volunteers to create and improve articles in their local language, as well as translate existing articles to make knowledge more accessible.

Partnerships and Collaborations

We organize and host events such as workshops and conventions where volunteers and open knowledge enthusiasts come together to edit or create Wikimedia projects on specific themes, often aimed at improving coverage of topics related to the local community or region.

Outreach and Awareness

Raising awareness about Wikimedia projects and how people can get involved, often through media, social media platforms, workshops, and presentations.

Community Building

Fostering a sense of community among local volunteers, and providing support and resources to help them contribute effectively.

Advocacy for Open Knowledge

Advocating for policies and practices that support the free sharing of knowledge and information in Rwanda and worldwide.

Cultural and Historical Preservation

Encouraging the documentation of local culture, history, and heritage on Wikimedia projects.

Technical Support and Development

We also plan to engage in technical projects related to Wikimedia platforms, or provide support to local developers and contributors.

Closing the gender internet gap

We provide training and encourage greater participation of women in the processes of freely sharing knowledge, while also amplifying the online presence of women.
