Wikimedia Rwanda, an independent non-profit organization based in Kigali( registered with the Rwandan government as OPEN SOURCE KNOWLEDGE RWANDA) dedicated to advancing open knowledge in Rwanda. This involves the creation and improvement of articles on Wikimedia Foundation project websites in Kinyarwanda, English, French, and Swahili. Additionally, the organization invests in projects that educate and train various Rwandan communities about Wikimedia, with a specific emphasis on promoting Kinyarwanda usage.

We strive to foster a culture of curiosity, learning, and diversity while promoting digital literacy and access to information for all people. By supporting the Wikimedia movement’s values of openness, collaboration, and neutrality, we aim to strengthen the local knowledge ecosystem, bridge information gaps, and promote the rich cultural heritage of Rwanda on a global scale.
